According to research Bulgaria has been found to be the cheapest destination for British holidaymakers.

Research conducted priced 10 typical items that you would purchase while on holiday such as a meal out. The cost of a meal in Bulgaria was just £42.23 whereas in Antigua it would cost £108.70 nearly 2 ½ times more expensive.

Holidaymakers looking for other cheap holiday destinations should consider Thailand where a meal cost £43.92 just £1.69 more and if looking at Europe then Croatia and Turkey offer the cheapest prices after Bulgaria.

Within the eurozone Spain was found to be the cheapest with a meal costing £67.47 closely followed by Portugal T £67.47 but with our weak pound against the euro holidaymakers should expect to find that their spending this year will be higher than in previous years.

Overall it was found that eating out has risen at a far faster amount than inflation, in Thailand where the food is second cheapest prices have risen an astounding 68.5% in the last year alone.
